Has anyone hired an avalanche transceiver? Need to get one for skiing week after next but not worth paying to buy one. Or anyone care to lend theirs out for currency?

easy to hire when there if it's a proper ski resort you're going to - make sure you (and your friends who'll need to find you) know how to use them properly
