Had the great pleasure of working here one christmas helping stuff hampers for very well off people. As a bonus they gave us a small hamper of food each at 2am on christmas morning as we finished loading the last hamper on the couriers van.

It was worth working the crazy hours just for the bacon and sausages.

From my butcher. Never, ever from a supermarket (unless it's Booths).

The smoked back bacon from the wee farm butcher's hidden out in the lanes near St Albans is amazing.

HERE is you're ever passing, they're on the homeward stretch of most of my road loops and sell awesome hot sausage rolls which is... handy.

Seriously after that you just can't go back to Sainburys finest, it's like night and day.

Yup, insist on kosher bacon, not that ISIS stuff. 🙂

I ALWAYS go for the halal bacon, me. You don't know what you're missing.

I don't know why supermarkets just don't do even half decent bacon; even their expensive stuff isn't a patch on pretty much anything you'd buy at a butchers. Everyone knows it's just stuffed full of water and that it shrinks to nothing, why do they persist in doing it, even to the "posh" stuff?
