I have just commissioned a piece of art. Its a painting of Cav winning on the Champs Elysese last year.

Personally, I have no idea. As long as you like it, that's the main thing. Any examples of the artists work?

You could have had this in A3 for less than that.

Seems a pretty reasonable price. Point is, and this is the most important thing about art, you like it, and you're happy with the price. That is all that matters.
FWIW, while it's not to my taste, it looks well painted, by a competent artist, and you're happy.

Just by way of a comparison, I put a deposit on this at the RA Summer Exhibition:

Approaching the Flannan's, by Norman Ackroyd, RA

Not to everyone's taste, but I love his etchings, they're always wild and dramatic, and I've wanted one for years.
It's smaller than yours, about 6x10", for the actual image. £360. Wish I'd bought one some years ago, when they were half that. 😐
Point is, you have a picture you like, and can live with, at a price you can afford.

I like the look of both paintings/etchings in terms of style.

Norman Ackroyds stuff just takes me away though. Good purchase CZ.
