[Closed] Armchair doctorists: what have I done to my ankle?

As I've written about at length recently, I did the Manchester 10K yesterday. Somewhere along the line, I did something to my ankle. At the time it felt like cramp, but after sitting down for ten minutes after the race I could barely walk on it.

It's not swollen so presumably not sprained. It's difficult to pin down exactly where it's sore, but it seems to hurt a bit if I load weight on the ball of my foot behind my big toe, and hurt a lot more when I release that load. The pain seems to be around my ankle joint (the sticky-outy bone bit) and sort of underneath it, along the top / side of my foot, in line with my big toe but further back.

Anyone got any insights? GP tomorrow?

IANOD, my diagnosis is metatarsal stress fracture, no bending it like Beckham for you for a few weeks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

IME - Unless your doctor is the young sporty kind, the advice will be rest it and take some painkillers.

Go straight to physio if you can afford a private appt.

metatarsal stress fracture

Yikes. A quick Google would suggest that this would be pain at the front of the foot though, mine is at the back.

Rest, ice, elevate and take ibuprofen

Another guess for tendonitis, another prescription for ibuprofen. And please, no pics.

Sounds like flexor hallucis longus tendon. Common injury in ballet dancers apparently ๐Ÿ˜‰

It'll be under the fridge, along with my kite.

the sticky-outy bone bit

On the inside or outside?

Sounds like flexor hallucis longus tendon.ย

I thought this, or tibialis posterior, but neither travel aling the top of the foot
