Anything mind-blowing going to be revealed or do you think it will all be evolutionary rather than revolutionary?

Hoping to see them finally do something interesting with Apple TV.

It's a nice pet project that they've kept on the back burner for long enough.

They are going to announce the ipad Note Pro 12.2 2014 - a revolutionary new larger sized ( don't say Maxipad ) tablet that Samsung copied off them 18 months ago.

is it time for them to invent wireless charging and NFC yet?
Must be time for a few other ideas how about music streaming...

From what it appears, IOS 9 looks like it has a few nice features in terms of when you download the new operating system it doesn't take up loads of space.

I imagine the rest of the stuff will be pretty generic, larger screens etc, like normal...

Anyone know how long it is after the announcement the new IOS is available?

Lightening cable will stay most likely but will have the double sided USB at the other end so it can be connected either way.

I suspect evolutionary more then revolutionary for this one. Including force touch, same size screens as the 6 and 6+ maybe with a 6C keeping the smaller form factor with no force touch?

Safari will apparently allow ad blocking...so there are likely to be a lot of users of this site suddenly getting a much faster experience once they have a 3rd party blocker installed!

^ think I'll wait for the 2GS Retina version of that perchypanther - I hear they are considering a revolutionary system of intuitive user-friendly tactile levers to reduce forward momentum with a squeeze of the fingers.

I suspect there isn't going to be any major announcements, more likely an update to most things and a price hike on everything.

Really?... I heard that forward momentum had to be altered using the new FootSwipe (TM) interface which features variable "ToeScrape" force feedback from the playing surface

Nearly as annoying as that arsehole that always had to do the "Will it run Flash?" question. Can't remember him - some no-mark. 😀

Also looking forward to see what they do with AppleTV.

They care a lot.

Nothing has ever rendered chargers obsolete, seeing as how Apple charging/data cables have had a standard USB plug on one end; a format that Apple adopted from the time of USB's introduction. All of my Apple devices, that's three iPods, four iPhones and an iPad can be plugged into any USB port, including my car radio.
And the 32-pin connector was in use for nine years befor Lightning was introduced; Sony used to change the connectors on their phones every time a new model came out, and they were proprietary Sony connectors that were almost impossible to source anywhere else. I had two successive Sony phones, a Z600 flip-phone and a K700i, and the connectors on both were not only utter rubbish, but weren't interchangeable.
The USB/32-pin connector, on the other hand, was usable through every generation of iPod, excluding the later Touch all of the iPhones up to the 5, the iPad up to, I think, the 3.
Sony have been one of the very worse companies for introducing proprietary formats, their memory cards being just one example.

iPhone 6S and 6+S which will be the same bar some small almost inconceivable improvement which the iFans will claim is game changing.

iOS9 which will look different, have a new feature users will use once and forget about, more useless apps you can't delete. iFans will cream themselves, most people won't care, Apple will laugh their evil laugh as millions of thier customers will voluntarily make thier 'old' iPhone 5 slow and buggy by updating the OS.

Various new sizes of iMacs, fashionistas will start feeling a deep pain in thier wallets, everyone else will stick with thier PCs.

Someone may say "one more thing" which is the signal for the devoted to start the vinegar strokes.

I try not to hate Apple, thier products are pretty good, but the bullshit they spew is unreal.

Do other manufacturers not do OS updates then? Does the latest Android still run perfectly on the first generation Android phones? How's Windows Mobile doing?

(Still using a 4S here by the way. From the dim past of 2011. And it works just fine with the current iOS)

..the bullshit they spew is unreal.

Meanwhile at Samsung...

No BS there. 😀

I can't believe people get so uppity about their phone provider. Not really giving a shit about apple's feelings means I can see the faults in their products if if they are easier to use than android.
It's like having a ruck with tesco shoppers because you're a sainsburys man.

I'm not picking a side - I'm bringing much needed balance to your one-sided argument.

They are all just as bad as each other. It's just a little pocket computer, not a lifestyle choice.

(FWIW I think Apple are losing their way a little)

Seriously? #TeamAndroid? They don't have a team, everyone's too embarassed to say they own one. The same goes for PC users. They all pretend not to care; "yeh, it's just a PC"

Us Apple users are proud to use products from one of the coolest and edgiest companies around. Their stuff "just works" - try it, it'll change your life.

Whereas since my Nokia X2-00 I've never needed to carry a cable since any micro USB charger will fit.

Also, why are Apple USB chargers too weak to charge any other brands? Genuine question, I always thought it was a strict standard.

I think the rise of smart watches has that covered.

Never heard that before. USB standard is 5v/1A which is what Apple phone chargers supply. I guess other brands may do some device negotiation to put out higher amps? I know the iPad charger can put out 2.1A

I've donated the money to Syrian refugees instead.

Respect. #TeamHumanity

Do you think just because I don't wear iBlinkers I don't use their products? I've got an iPhone 6, I've had a few others Apple things over the years, they've often pretty good, but I refuse to think it's anymore than it is. a soulless lump of plastic and metal I used to contact people - there are other products that work just as well and there very few tangible aspects of it which are unique, I also accept a lot of the cost of it was to pay for marketing and not R&D and manufacturing.

When you start buying into the happy-clapping and cheering for a manufacturer you're setting yourselves up to be a mug. They're not "cool" or "Edgy" in fact they are the carefully managed, consumer feedback data lead epitome of cynical marketing. The information they put out, especially their product launch events are carefully created to tell consumers exactly what they think will sell the most things, nothing more and nothing less. That doesn't make them unique of course, but if you take pride in someone else's work you've lost your way.

They do. There is a Remote app.

It's not the ads that break Safari - it's the Javascript for those Video/Img/URL buttons.

You've been able to control the Apple TV with an iPhone for years....

I only flicked onto it quickly, soon got bored haven't got a clue what's been released apart from the new Apple TV but I'm gonna go download crossy road to the iPad now!

yer course, but they seem to be pressing the new remote, never showed or mentioned it controlled by iPhone, the old remotes were somewhat more basic

price is good for the Apple TV

90 minutes in, phones not been mentioned, these things are getting long

iPad Pro + Pencil = WIN. Been waiting for something like that for a long time - like the Wacom Cintiq, but way better (and a fraction of the price!). Should hopefully be a genuinely decent productivity tool, rather than just something for looking at! Can't wait to see what apps Adobe are going to come out with.

All the non-incremental updates are a bit... dare I say it... PC.

Contextual menus, styluses, keyboards...

I'm a bit sad because I was hoping the iPhone camera was going to be one of those infinite focus ones like a Lytro. It'll happen one day.
