Mini me maybe getting a phone for Christmas.
As much as I like iOS, I'm not spaffing that sort of money for him to lose before the end of january.
Anything else worth looking at?
TIA

Been looking at these for myself, also checking out the HTC One Mini 2, which seems decent as well.

Be good to get thoughts of anyone that's got either - particularly anyone who dumped their iphone for one (which is what I'm toying with).

I am typing this on an s4 mini that must be atleast 18months old now.

The camera is actually way better than i expected, provided its light.

Everything I've tried works and you can get extra batteries and borrow chargers everywhere which is the reason i'll never own a apply phone. Certainly don't feel any need to replace it!

And get a flip case that replaces the back.

I have one. It's ok and I guess considering the price that's about all I can say. Battery life isn't great (it doesn't last a day for me) and it's a bit slow.

+1

except now that I've got a tablet for surfing, the battery does last a couple of days.
Compared with the Sony Experia NeoV that I had before, which could comfortably last 4-5 days on one charge, I think it's a backward step. Not exactly sure what's using the extra juice, probably one of the many 4G features that I don't really use.

Tied to it for another year yet but I seriously doubt I'll get another Samsung when its time is up

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've bitten the bullet and picked 1 up from the Three store (unlocked).

Now to look at contract options - the Three 15 a month with all you can eat data looks good for Spotify / YouTube use. Any others to consider?
