What's the company like to work for?
Just for background info.
They've got loads of customers in Switzerland.
😉
Been to their place down South somewhere (for an industry forum they hosted). Nice facility.
Not much help I know.
A mate of mine does, in near Nuremberg, likes the the co, hates the work
worked with them a tiny bit to help develop an application a while back. It was mostly at their place in Marlow - I'd work for them from what I saw. Overall, good people and the company works you hard but no harder than anyone else in that field.
One of our lot used to be fairly senior there. She has nothing but good words for them. This was a decade or two ago though.
I don't work for them, but use SAS and have been on some courses at their Manchester office and I've always been happy with the training given.
Sounds like I might not shoot the agent this time then. I have been to the SAS Institute near Marlow a couple of times and it is nice.
Good company, haven't worked with them, but have worked with some partner organisations that use them as a supplier to deliver some very very clever systems. So I'd say give it a shot.
Clearly this is all on behalf of a friend
😉
My understanding was that they are good to work for but don't necessarily pay that well as the kudos (sp?) of working for them is good for the CV.
Using SAS for best part of 15 years BTW.
I recruit for SAS, great company. Nothing but positive feedback and I can't say that of all the companies I've worked with.
I hope your "friend" is good at what he does, they're fussy!
Having just interviewed 2 people currently at SAS, the company may be good but their people are not that great. 'Middleweight' is how I would describe them.
SAS is a strong company though - will look good on your CV.
What's the job? R&D, Services, Sales, Marketing, dogsbody?
Bonus if your friend is one of mine I wont get shot!!
Jools you didn't ring someone in Switzerland earlier did you?
They are the worlds largest privately owned software company.
Their leader is called Dr Goodnight
They operate from country estates and chateaux (i.e. Lairs instead of Offices)
They are obviously an organisation bent on world domination led by an evil genius.
Only 007 can save us.
And their stupid licensing model drove me nuts...
I did not. I'm doing some stuff around BVC and Data leadership and a colleague is doing a couple of the others.
Seriously good business though and I am a contractor with no vested interest.
I understand their on site chef is starred, that would sell it to me!
I have tried to headhunt their people in the past - It was difficult!
mmmm good food.
A sachet of Curry soup is the highlight of this sites cuisine
I am told their restaurant is the best in the business!!
Really though, good company and I've worked with most of the tier one software houses. If you want to talk to me offline feel free.
J
