As in the title my gas boiler is getting old and needs replacing and at the same time I'm thinking of moving the gas meter.
I fancy moving away from gas and have heard good things about pellet boilers any real world experiences greatly appreciated.

If you have mains gas forget anything else. Spend your money insulating, draught proofing, and making sure you have the most energy efficient products you can.

Pellets are on a par with oil, only the RHI payments make it economical, whilst they last. The ones we have at work can be fussy. If you're on mains gas, I'd stick with that.

What bear said. And I sell one of the best on the market - still wouldn't have one over gas. Not at least, until the price of gas just about doubles.

Gas right now should be about 3.5-4p/kWh depending on your supplier/standing charges.

Pellets are about 5.5-7p depending on your delivery type/size.
