I'm having serious trouble with what I think is heel spurs, I can't drive for more than 10miles without my right foot hurting like hell!
As I drive for a living 50,000+ miles a year this is becoming a nightmare for me!
I've used Boots insoles which help, but these then crush my toes in my safety boots and that causes its own problems too!
I'd just like to be able to get the problem sorted out, has anyone successfully sorted this problem out?
Have you seen a professional about this? If not why not try a physio and/or podiatrist? If you have, why not take their advice rather than from randoms on the internet who can't see your feet?
A quick google suggests they (the conventional type) are related to plantar fascitis, which I got some help from a physio for, though it took a long time to get rid of. (I also have "heel spurs" though mine are on the back of my heels and only result in blisters).
I spoke to my Gp about it, but he just said yes sounds like plantar fascitis, here's some tablets!
Tablets take away the pain, but once I stop it all comes back, besides everyone knows STW is the font of all knowledge! :p
I'm just interested to hear if anyone has experience of this and has any ideas on how to treat it.

I said a professional, not a GP! Try one of the ones I mentioned - you can in theory get physio (maybe even podiatry) on the NHS, but the wait is long - I always just pay, as the cost isn't that huge compared to other things. GPs are generally useless at sports related stuff, as demonstrated by yours just giving you painkillers for PF (that's actually a degree beyond normal uselessness, as even a GP ought to realise your PF isn't just going away).
I could give you tips on treatment from personal experience, but you'd get just as good by googling, and my comment about seeing somebody who can examine you properly stands.
ive had heel pain for quite a few months now..hurts when i walk but not when i riding which is good thing..... i massage the area a few times a day and also 'kneed' my thumb into the sore area and massarge. ive also done the heels pads thing inserts in shoes etc but still no joy...im wearing decent training shoes as well with great padding and shoe inserts so im doing everything right but apparently it can take up to 18 months ive read for the symptoms to disapear... theres no real treatment apart from massarging a few times a day...its one of those "time situations where you have to wait for it to go....ruddy pain it is 👿
ive heard you can strap your foot at nite with special tape....
I had a heel spur a few years ago caused by a mild strain of the plantar fascia from running...
I was told to get myself one of these...

use it as often as is possible to literally 'flie down' the spur. It's pretty painful at times though but just get on with it, I could only manage about half hour in one go. Also include plenty of stretching. Took about three or four months to fix, never had a problem since. Go and see a physio or specialist to get a diagnosis first though.

You could stick a couple of golf balls in the freezer and use them in the same way as above or even a small bottle of water.
Got one from when I fractured my heel many years back and it went undetected until a second x-ray so mended on its own
Saw a consultant who said the first thing they could do was a cortisone injection, just left it and will enquire again if it plays up
Think an operation is a last resort, but definitely worth seeking medical advice
