Pfizer are the biggest Pharacuetical company in the world by sales. Amazed you have never heard the name (unless you are a kid, no offence). They make Viagra (likely candiate for spam mail?).

So dez - you've either been checking out gentleman's relaxation sites, or you're having a spot of wood trouble - want to share it with the group?

most spam filters will stop anything containing viagra, v1agra etc but i'd imagine pfizer wouldn't welcome being on such lists, although some might argue it would be doing the world a favour

what he said ^^

Viagra will be in all the spam filters so using the manufacturers name instead allows the spam to get through to destination. And *everyone* 😉 knows the Pfizer / Viagra link.

How would spammers know that? If it was true, like.

No, I work for the ones that stitch and fix wounds. Nice line in DVT stockings too.

Cookies and browser history have no bearing on the spam you receive. If you think that you're as paranoid as MrN 😉

funny that, it knows a few random websites I've visited once or twice. It also knows my email address? no.
Someone's getting mixed up between tracking cookies and spam-bots.

I checked "XXX"
Congratulations, we did not find anything in this category in your browser history.
Feel free to try our other browser history tests.

Not really.

Either you can receive an HTML-based email which contains suitable javascript to do that (though granted most of these are blocked these days)

Or

They manage to inject a suitable bit of HTML/Javascript onto a compromised website that already knows your email address (e.g. say the hacker that got into STW was a bit cleverer and instead of trashing the place just inserts an invisible iframe to scan your cookies and then put that together with your STW email address and send it off to a spammer)

Or

You get a simple blanket spam email that has been sent out to millions and you foolishly follow a link on it which then takes you to a website to harvest that info and put it together with your email address.

But actually...

None of this happens because spam isn't targeted. 😀
