i want to buy one of the mk 2 facelifted ones from 2000 onwards. i want the one with the se spec and the nice alloys .the top of the range 130 ps tdi model is the only one with all this i belive. does anyone know if the suspention/handling is uprated on this model or just the wheels?
if so is it only the top of the range models that were uprated or are all se spec alhambras?

The only thing I know about them is that they are basically the same as the VW Sharan and Ford Galaxy, but IIRC they all have the VW diesel engines. So, unless there is a reason to go with the Seat, you might get a better choice if you look at the other makes too.

I know that the majority of people carriers I have seen, of that sort of age, usually resemble a Beruit Troop Carrier on the inside. Really have to look hard to find a good one!!

I owned one of these (130ps, auto, fully loaded) after having three Galaxies. It was definitely a firmer ride, and I switched because you got a lot more extras for you money, but the trade off was the build quality was sh1te - hard to believe as they are all (Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra) made in the same factory.
I'm now driving an S-max, much better by a long way and just about the same amount if interior room (but small back row seats).

can't answer yr question but had a 2002 Galaxy and i'd be real careful on the aircon (assuming you want it - they are like glasshouses) only real reason for getting rid of it - exchanger lasts about 18months typically - and costs aound £600-£800 to replace as all the front has to come off you can google it on car forums - seems to be a known problem
