Never heard of it so had a google.
Ammerica association of Orthapeadic surgeonsExtracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT). During this procedure, high-energy shockwave impulses stimulate the healing process in damaged tendon tissue. ESWT has not shown consistent results and, therefore, is not commonly performed.

4 NHS trusts using it apparently, but none near me. Radio 4 medicine program alerted me to it last week.
Hoping someone has had a go, preferably with positive results !
