If so, what have your ownership experiences been like?
looking at them I suspect they're a Ford Kuga underneath in the same way a V50 is a Focus estate. The V50 was a terrible car when it went wrong because Volvo couldn't diagnose a lot of the problems due to Ford not giving them the correct info/eqpt. There's a lot of pissed off V50 owners about.
That said they look like a nice motor and I'll be tempted by one when my car comes up for renewal in March, but may play safe and get a Rav4
Interesting comments above. I've owned a V50 r-design for the past 3 years, it's done 105,000 miles and apart from the air conditioning unit on it (which is a known fault due to it's location) it's been absolutely flawless. Far better than every other company car I've run that have all developed faults - but not the volvo.
Consequently when mine was due to be changed, I've ordered an XC60 r-design with sat nav etc built in. I trialled one for a few days, and it was great comfort wise and drive wise. I'll tell you in a few months after I've taken delivery at the start of Jan but if it's anything like my V50, it'll be flawless too.
S60 owner here, cant fault it. go for the 2.5 D5 diesel, roars like a lion, goes like a rocket and not bad at all on the MPG
Thanks for comments.
D3 for me due to budget considerations.....
XC90 here, but parents had a 60 for a while.
Great car by all acounts, no real problems and the residuals were fantastic.
Probably no use to you, but some Volvo dealers have 0% finance on Xc90's at the mo, plus a healthy discount off list (basic model down to about £27k I think). I know it's a bit outdated compared to other big 4x4s but you're still getting a lot of car for the money.
I've had an XC90 for 9 years and it's basically a brilliant family car. As an early adopter I've had a few issues (rear hubs/flywheel and it's done less that 70K) but these have been negated by the overall experience and I'd expect they'd have all the little niggles sorted by now..
There's 5 in our family plus at least one dog and a few boats/bikes and there's still nothing out there I'd change it for.
My BIL has had an XC60 since they came out and he's very pleased with it indeed.
A mate had one as a company car and really liked it but wished he'd not got the basic version.
I have the XC60 eDrive, approx 3500 miles on it since October. Cracking car, only 2 problems with it are that is overpowered for just front wheel drive and that the windscreen demist is pathetic.
If I had a choice, then the 4x4 version would have been preferred.
Wife as a V70 RDesign with the 2.0 litre engine and the cars are very similar in drive and build quality, V70 has better demist.
We've had our D5 AWD R-Design since September. Apart from a few little niggles that were promptly sorted by our dealer (Holdcroft in Stoke on Trent) the car has been superb. Supremely comfy, quick and pretty! Recommend haggling your nads off as we managed to get over 4K off list price.. Volvo offer big discounts if pushed.
Not sure how the 163hp version fairs on fuel but our 215hp D5 auto box is not the most frugal tho..
Still love it..
BTW chassis is basicly that of a mondeo, not focus and also reassuring the AWD version had it's tweaking done by land rover..
