Loving the Sunday vibe. Cat Stevens was a treat a long time coming

Looks like the crowd is bouncing to the war on drugs. Really wish I was at that

The quality of the stream on the Pyramid Stage is so much better.

Clearly all the UHD resources went there.

Grear. version of Under the Pressure by War on Drugs.

Favourites so far - Rick Astley and Blossoms, then the Lathams.

Crowd for Elton looks huuuuge! Did anyone have Pinball Wizard in the "what's his opening song going to be" raffle?!

He's at least managing a decent impersonation of himself. He will be carried by the songs being classics, but that's fine - he's earned that. As a nostalgia-fest this will work quite well, I think.

His voice is significantly better than that COVID lockdown concert

Not forgetting his band who've been with him since the early '70s. Must be quite a night for them, too.

This in spades! That COVID vid was hideous!!! My gf is a mega fan, saw him on his latest tour etc, so I'm glad that he's sounding in decent voice as there's 0 chance of turning over.

Doing well so far, his slow shambling shuffle to the piano riser had me worried though.

However - I urge everyone to at least give the BSL version a go. Some epic air guitaring and drumming.....

With BSL on its a far more enjoyable set.

His 70s album output is phenomenal. Madman Across The Water is a top 5 album for me, so it's great to see this

Loving Elton so far.
In my rather younger days (I’m 46 now) I used to love putting my dads records on his “don’t you dare touch my hifi” system. One of them was “Elton Jobns Greatest Hits”. As o for older volumes for higher especially when they were out as he had a Quad 405 and some pretty cool speakers.

Well I’ve now inherited the Quad amp (he is still around, just got bored of hifi and handed it off to me). I’m now listening to the same tunes through the same amp. Happy days.

Elton was rocking the classic sciatica walk as he came on stage. Smashing it out of the park so far though.

i love the way that he said this might be his last ever UK show. Of course Elton, of course it is.

I can accept he is an absolute icon, I just don't like the songs. If we leave now we can get to the other stage and get a space right in front for QOTSA. Who's coming?

Anyone know if the Cavetown set is streaming anywhere for a big fan in my house?

Impressed with Elton TBH, his voice isn't what it was but still good and he's got a hell of a back catalog to go at. Was gonna turn over the QOTSA soon but in 2 minds now.

Thanks to this thread I've now discovered Nova Twins. F*** me, they were ace. What a noise, that last track was something else 👌

I think we share some similarities in our families beyond spending too much time on here 😉

I think being a fan of Cavetown is a fine thing to be.

Utterly phenomenal. I read a quote from Tom Morello that described them as "the best band you've never heard of"

I'm watching and Mum is sitting on my shoulders in her bra and sparkly glasses waving a flag

Can't deny he's got the songs if you like that sort of thing, but every time I hear Elton sing live these days I just close my eyes and I'm listening to Vic Reeves club singer.

Enjoying Elton more than I thought I would.

Slightly surprised about all the people discovering the Nova Twins for the first time as I’m sure they received a similar reaction in last years Glastonbury thread!

Is he going to sing Candle in the Wind with a massive pic of Princess Di on the screen? With a guest appearance from Prince Harry?

It has sadly all gone a bit pub singer 😕

The bloke has still got some mega piano chops.

Edit: Brandon Flowers clearly called in at Turkey to get his teeth done en route!

And if the stage lighting catches those teggies square-on, I reckon it could be seen from space.
