We put up an 8ft real Christmas Tree yesterday and I had crawled underneath it to fill up the water reservoir in the base. Whilst there I thought I’d check to see if the “lock” on the ratchet that clamps the tree in place was on.

Had a stand-up row with a neighbour in the street. He was looking for an argument and I snapped and gave him what he wanted. I did a lot of shouting, constructed my argument *very* badly, and reduced myself to hurling abuse at him. Not my finest hour.

UK mountain biking in a nutshell
Nine hours marshalling /taking down cyclocross in the pouring rain yesterday was seeming pretty stupid as I was collecting stakes in the gloaming.
Swapped the winters on to Missusalz's new car. Found that two hub threads are shagged, wondered if something was up when I found two loose wheel nuts and then found out for sure when I got the wheel off. So not stupid on my part, but someone's been stupid somewhere.
Went indoor bouldering for the first time ever on Sunday. Good fun but god I ache today.
Replaced the shifter/brake lever on my gravel bike. Pig of a job. Stripped two brand new bolts doing it, fortunately I could replace with the ones from the old unit.
Wanted to try out a new sheeptrack short cut to a circular ride from the farm, that we have been sanitising. Went out to do it in the dark on Saturday evening in that yellow wind warning. To get there involves riding along the top of an exposed ridge at 2000 ft for about 2 miles. Thankfully with an Ebike, forwards momentum was possible but we had to tack along with the bikes leaning at about 45 degress to the track. At one point my sheep dog lost her rear footing and I was treated to the sight of a dog holding on to the floor with its front claws. Quite amusing (no real harm could have come to her). The new trail was great BTW, if a little muddy given conditions.

Came down with the lurgy on Friday and spent the weekend shivering under a duvet.

Took twice as many 4mg Tizanidine as I should have, 8 (32mg) instead of 4 (16mg) for my spms muscle spasms/muscle tightness before bed, certainly knocked me out but also left me practically unable to move at all

Well, it was after the weekend, actually about 15 mins ago - I typed a long post on here and STW rewarded me with 502 Gateway error and lost it all. Pile of shite
After deciding that, after losing our much loved 14 year old rescue dog René in October, we would replace him with another older dog as they're just (generally) calmer and we couldn't be arsed with the palaver, bounciness and toilet training of a puppy.
So, obviously, on Saturday we picked up a six month old, not toilet trained yet, jack russell/springer cross...

I had a fight with my old BC dog late last night when tired. She is very old BC half blind, deaf, and a pacemaker, ohh and arthritis plus slightly incontinent... she was weeing everywhere in the house but it was raining so she didnt want to go out. She made a run to go upstairs and I grabbed her and got my hand mauled by slightly worn out teeth. Bitch!!
Spent an hour putting outdoor Christmas lights up just before the huge storm that I knew was coming. Three hours later they were ripped apart and broken.
Done some trailbuilding which wasn't too bad, but then decided to go and ride a new trail.
I think the heavy rain started just as I entered the trees, as it suddenly got a lot darker. I struggled to see where I was going, had to walk one rock garden as all I could make out were a few random rocks sticking out the darkness, and the trail had turned into a stream by the bottom, then I had to ride a couple miles back to the van in the rain.
On the plus side, it was wet enough to be fairly mud free with plenty grip.

Pulled the handle off a garage door that was sticking and then fell backwards over something in the middle of the floor.... put my hand out.
In a splint at the moment but I'm expecting a call from the fracture clinic confirming the fracture and then go in for a cast.

Bird feeders,turned around to get more seed and knocked a full one off the bird table,then while trying to catch/save it I kicked over the seed bag. Pigeons must be telepathic!! swarms of barstewards instantly turned up.

A mate contacted me earlier t’night in a helluva panic, she ordered 4 stussy t shirts a couple of weeks ago for her 15yr old sons Xmas and they arrived this morning, they’re obviously counterfeit. The website she ordered from is Primestreetwear so I did a bit of digging and found the website is a GoDaddy domain, further digging found the Chinese address of the company so no hope of getting a refund and she only has a bank debit card linked to her Apple Pay which was used for purchase and does not offer any buyer protection.
Bugger, I’ve reported the website to the uk fraud site and EU site as well as contacting stussy head office in California but I doubt anything will come of it.

Some thing came up and I needed a days leave. Not the days between Christmas and New Year. My leave request was declined for a totally unreasonable reason. We have a team of 12, 2 are on leave and they state we need the cover over the period, bearing in mind this is during school holidays. Minimum staffing level is 7.
I have decided to challenge this just for the sake of it and because we have a management team that couldn't find their arses with both hands. They have a leave ban from the 18th December to 12 January. Leave had to be in by October. WTF. What if something unforeseen comes up as it did for me?
I may not be working here for much longer 🙂
