We will be in touch
I did it with a group of 10 (well, started at 10 then split into smaller groups to suit different paces) yesterday and it was one of the best days out I've had in a long time! First time I've ever done something like that and I was dreading it to be honest as I hate running. Despite having done hardly any training (I'd done about 5 short runs this year) I managed to run the whole thing which my bad knee is punishing me for now, but was such a fun day.
Any suggestions for similar events that have the fun approach rather than serious things like triathlons etc? Think I may have the bug now, I feel so good today.
good fun eh? I have my third coming up in a few weeks. there are a few of these things about now, if you like TM on facebook it pops up with ads for a load of them, spartan race etc. there's a mens health series too. I keep wondering if I should enter the Tough Guy event, not sure I am really hard enough though!
Nuclear Rush last weekend = huge fun. A Dirt Worker with a tank of warm water and shampoo and towel was a good idea. Two blokes in trisuits washing each other down got a few giggles and glances.
Tough Guy is really good, the winter one is very very hard though.
I have done three now - it's more bloody minded determination than fitness!
Cheers for the suggestions, the Nuclear ones look good! I'm tempted to do the one in November but get the impression that all the water ones will be like arctic enema haha.
I've done TM and i had fun, wasnt looking forward to the shocks and the full submergence in ice water under the tyres was a shock!
Check out Nuts Challenge!!
I've only done the winter nuts challenge not the summer. doing 1x7k lap is fun but hard, in fact so was 2 laps but it gets a bit serious after that, i did 4 laps and it was really tough!, not the distance but the cold, water and relentless obstacles.
There loads of this type of event to choose from now, also check out Judgement day, that has some proper tough sections, namely the sandbag carry! but i had some laughs in that event and the fibua village at copehill was interesting and different.
Rock Solid and Dirty Dozen sound good but not done them yet.
