Laptop has taken a heavy knock and screen dying. Wondered how the claims have gone.

I claimed a couple of months ago for my bike when it fell off the roof of the car at 70mph on a dual carriageway (eek!) They paid up without much delay and I now have a perfectly working (nicely upgraded ;)) bike again 😀

Also have a claim going through at the moment for a dropped camera - no issues as yet!

I claimed with M&S travel insurance when BA lost my luggage on the way to a summer ski week in Switzerland.

They paid up without quibble on the max £300 allowed on the policy for buying/hiring gear.

My luggage turned up on day 3, so I got a new goretex ski-jacket, new ski pants, technical top, gloves and hat out of the deal

I'd recommend them

I can update on the camera claim on the Curlygirl reply, They had it last Thursday for inspection and I have just spoken to them, and I have a new camera on order. Superb.

I have. Zero hassle.
It does affect your premiums in the future though, so probably only worth it if the repair/replacement is expensive.

That's my problem laptop screen damaged and on way out. I guess I should remove everything I can from the old one now if they keep them.

I assume you can keep your own hard drive though?

if it's a new laptop they might just replace the screen

4 years old. I'd be happy with a new screen. And I would assume the HDD would stay, I can't be doing with wiping it/ losing data etc.
