I'm looking for a few pieces to be cut from mild steel (some half inch and some quarter inch). Pieces are not big, max 5" x 4".
Anybody able to help?

Could you not use a gas axe?

I could if I had one .... I don't have anything suitable really so may as well have it done nicely (unless the price difference is significant).
I suppose I could try a fabricator locally for a gas cut job.

Just thought gas would be more readily available. Then a bit of grinding/filing.

Looks like a pad eye? Could you achive the same result by buying something like this or similar:

Other than that, just google a local laser cutter place, its normally not that expensive, especially if you provide the dxf file or similar.

Though I think 13mm might be getting close to the limits for laser cutting mild steel. Might also be worth googling water jet cutting places.

Cheers guys. That pad eye would not be strong enough but it's similar.
I've actually found some 5mm and 10mm plate in the barn so might have a go at cutting it out myself first.
