I have a shower with a shower pump located under the bath. Just recently by the end of the shower it all starts going a bit "tits up". You can hear the pump tone change & then it stops (it has flow switches). Turn the shower off & wait a minute & it all works fine again. In the shower I have a thermostatic shower mixer. So far I've taken the mixer out & checked that the filters are clear. On advice I've also removed the non-return valves as they're not required as both the hot & cold are tank fed. Whilst off I turned on the pump & there seems plenty of water coming out. I've then removed the pump & checked if its filters were clear...I couldnt actually see any filters on it tbh (Wickes dual head shower pump). I also had plenty of water at the pump as well.. Not really sure what to do next. Dont really want to just buy a new pump & mixer tap on the off chance.. Any advice appreciated
Does it have flexible hoses on the inlet side? I've seen a hose that delaminated and would collapse under suction then restrict flow and cause the pump to shut down on low flow
Yes it does... Is that something that can be felt without taking it apart.. ie do they feel week or sponge like car hoses do
The outer braiding is quite stiff. Why not just treat it to new hoses all round? If the inlet hoses are failing, the outlet ones will soon as well.
