Just wondered if there's any repair people on here who know what the 'best'(!) of the budget oven brands is.

Built in oven, max budget 225, don't need anything with loads of modes, don't need digital clock or even a timer. Just simple fan oven with grill. Needs to be max 13A

I'm thinking something like an indesit, as spares like elements seem readily available, but then there's some newwer brands like Hisense that seem to be getting good reviews...

Interesting reading on this site http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/about-the-appliance-industry/manufacturer-information/ about who owns what brands, and that even some premium brands are still just rebadged cheapo stuff!

I use the basic fan oven from howdens usually around £130 , I’ve fitted about 20 over the last 3 years never had any faults and a 3 year warranty

Ive just fitted 2x Hotpoint from AO.com
https://ao.com/product/sa2844hix-hotpoint-class-2-electric-single-oven-stainless-steel-42710-45.aspx

£209 each. Delivered very promptly. Too much polystyrene packaging though IMO.

Supplied with fused plug, 13A

Seem OK. It does have quite a few features you may not need, but they seem to be working OK. Reasonably easy to clean.

We got a basic New World one about 6 years ago. Cost around £150. Had a fault with the thermostat but it was repaired within warranty and haven't had an issue with it since.

Beko oven here. Ours is a double, lower is fan, upper is grill (door open) / basic oven (door closed). Has a basic clock timer doohickey and two temp dials.

Swapped main oven element twice in six years.

No other problems.

Beko here - heating element failed about a year ago - 30 minute job to remove oven and replace element. Cost about £12 for the part. Oven itself is really good, and front door can be removed for cleaning inside the glass.

Another Beko here, sounds as though mrmonkfinger and I have the same model. Considering I'd been a Neff girl for many years and thought I'd regret buying a Beko but have been very surprised. Can't fault it at all over the last 3 years.

All other things being equal, this would make me suspicious. Good for a repair guy, or good for a consumer?
