I've just moved my sky+hd box into a different room running an extension cable from an unused cable in the bedroom.
Sky box says no signal. Does it need a roboot or is it my connections?
I used a maplin kit.
Driving me mental.
The box in the bedroom had stopped working. Maybe it was the connection at the dish?

Where does the unused cable terminate at its other end?

Carefully check the state of the connectors- it's vital they're good without any shorts

What sort of coax cable is it ? The cheap stuff doesn't work due to signal loss, If I recall correctly WF100 was the stuff to use.

Any 75 ohm coax should be OK unless the cable run gets excessive - it's not ideal using ordinary UHF stuff like C55 but it'll still work in most cases

Thanks, followed above advice, still no good. Changed input mode to single and rebooted.
Shows no signal, must be connection at the dish. I'll go up tomorrow.
Really frikin annoyed with it all.
The cable is c55, and I recon it's extended by 15m.
