Mrs B has several outdoor adventure buddies who spend time overnighting in their vans. Not proper hols, but just for a get away and somewhere not outside to sleep in.
One of her friends has a Partner L2 van with a rudimentary conversion with some insulation and vents and a bench in the rear that pulls out into a bed.
Are there any problems with these vehicles? Should ahe consider something else for this use?
And observations and advice gratefully received.
No issues with my Tepee version, although I do seem to wear tyres out unevenly and keep having to replace headlights yearly (passenger sides blows yearly)...

I have a Peugeot Expert same as a Partner but slightly bigger. Had it for a year with no problems. I could sleep in it beside the bike(s) but haven't yet.
I've a 56 plate Peugeot Partner Teepee Outdoor, I've twice had to replace the Ad Blue tank/injector (one sealed unit)...and it wasn't cheap, it's apparently an issue with them but I've properly been unlucky having to do it twice.
Anyways I like the car/vehicle but once I've had my money out of this repair I'll be moving on to something else.
It's the 1.6 diesel engine that can be a bit problematical if not regularly serviced, but they're good with a regular oil and filter change. I took one from 50 to 120k miles, and when it went the engine was the best bit about it after being done every 10k miles. I'd be wary of an un-maintained one. The 2.0 Hdi is fine AFAIK.

Oh yeah - mine is the 2.0HDI and the engine to have but it's only in the older M59 models that finished in 2007ish.
The 1.6diesel has a few issues, the petrols are all pretty solid.

I know there have been scare stories about the 1.6 turbo diesel but it is in a serious number of cars (from various manufacturers) and it is fine - providing it is serviced yearly with oil changes (which tends to be standard on services).
