...****ers working today?
Merry Christmas if you are!
Unlucky, I have done in the past but not this year and I am not one to rub it in but I've got 3 weeks off.
Not this year but I will in the future when the training is finished.
yup. At least the roads are clear, just wish the radio would stop playing s**tty christmas music!
[applause]
i'll just say thanks and well done to meehaja and everyone else who's keeping the country running while the rest of us are not.
Cheers!
[/applause]
Am in today and off tomorrow (christmas dinner tomorrow) the family are just having a buffet today. At least the work is quiet.
Sort of...i'm on call today, so hoping everyone is being good boys and girls and i dont have to go out and work!
Sort of working here, more a case of watching the big waves come rolling in off the north atlantic, while sat full of Norwgian christmas lunch and waiting for drilling to get going again. Ho hum, more hurry up and wait.
Sat here scribbling new designs and ideas down, so it is sort of 'working', but something I enjoy and I don't have to do it, so not really the same as those working in jobs to keep us all safe and well and sort us out if we come a cropper.
Was hoping to be volunteering at a homeless shelter this Xmas, but they've got more than enough volunteers apparently, which can only be good.
God bless all those giving up time they could be spending stuffing their faces and larding out in front of the telly, to help others.
Nope, only wish I was rather than having to be polite to people I'd otherwise really not choose to be around!
Every year I tell myself "next Christmas just bugger off on your own, do your own thing"... Well next bloody Christmas I will!
Only flipside is I bought myself a new Mac the other day, so can justify being antisocial and playing on it as it's my Christmas present to myself...
Ooh! Whatcha got, MBoy?
I need a Blu-Ray writer for mine. And 2 new big HDs. And some more memory.
Sigh...
EdwardH - Just reading lifting method statements in the desert here...
But now finished!
Bought myself a new MacBookPro Elf, 13" one, core i7 processor. Got it for a steal as it was the recently replaced model (newer one is a 2.8GHz processor, this is a 2.7, so no real difference). My old machine was 5 years old, it was time for a new one, this should last another 5 years I hope...
Know what you mean about needing the upgrades though, for my desktop Hackintosh I really need more RAM, an SSD (and an SSD for this MBP), though I've not got into Blu-Ray's at least...
Had to sell most of my RAM cos I was skint, mind you I pinched it out of a borked Mac Pro from me mate's work (some idiot had it next to a radiator and the poor thing just got overheated and burnt out) so not the end of the world. Will sort some in the New Year much cheaper now than it used to be anyway.
SSD is a good idea, they're coming down in price although the recent floods have seen HD prices rise dramatically. Need a BD player/writer cos there's just so much stuff to back up, and I end up with thousands of DVDs all over the place.
