My daughter (11) is having a minor op tomorrow afternoon under GA. The paperwork says that she must not eat or drink after 8am tomorrow. Is this correct? I had imagined she would not be able to eat or drink after this evening.

Yes it's correct. Morning list- starve from the night before, pm list starve from the morning.

Could be worse, I had to starve fro the night before and ended up being the last person through! In the meantime i was given 2 paracetamol and half a plastic cup of water!

Hopefully I wont ever need surgery as I seem to bonk even if sat on my arse without food for 3 hours.
I'd be dead within a few days in Ethiopia.
