I want to embed a drop down list in a webpage so when an item is selected it calls up the relevant value in the next column (1 to 1 relationship)
I don't want to display the whole sheet with both columns in it
I would like to use google docs as other people will be maintaining the data as well and we've been collaborating for while and are used to it.
hope this all makes sense

Not sure but I use zapier to do populate stuff in google docs.
I've got online forms in wufoo that populate spreadsheets in google docs. It really is quite clever
