As subject. Going to the supermarket lunchtime and looking for a nice bottle for the festive period? Less than £20 and don't mind it light or peaty..

Got a Co-op/Somerfields near you? Jura down from £27 a bottle to £17. Luvverly, luvverly stuff.

Think there's a similar offer on Glenmorangie but I don't really drink it.

There are a few supermarkets near where I'm working, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons and Tescos. Also got a Co-op back home too. Nearly bought Jura in Morrsions this morning at £21.

This info is obviously no use to you whatsoever, but I've just picked up a bottle of Jura Superstition in Booths, £25 down from £30.

Bought my wife a bottle of Bruichladdich Rocks for £18 from Asda the other day. She assures me it is very nice.

talkisker is 22 quid in most at the moment if you like the smoky stuff - the brucchladdich sounds good too if you want something less peaty

Oh, I spotted that the other day, is it nice? (The drink, not the wife) I assumed it was the same old stuff in fancy packaging.

I had a bottle of this last week. It's quite smooth and even though it says 'unpeated' on the bottle it still has a lovely subtle smokiness to it. I shared mine with some old friends in front of an open fire.

I might be tempted by the Jura tomorrow. I camped by the distillery last year but didn't get to try the whisky until this past summer. It's quite good.

Apparently it is (and she is too), I don't drink it so couldn't comment. But she did say it is peaty. I have made it my mission to like whisky this Christmas, currently trying a Balvenie Doublewood (ooher).

My Tesco had Labrot and Graham's Woodford Reserve Bourbon reduced to £20. It's very lovely - more raisiny than Scotch. Bought some.

I was confused by Bruichladdich Rocks not having an age on the bottle but it's a mixed vintage which was designed to (shock, horror) be drunk with ice, hence the 'Rocks'. I just had mine with a little water, no ice. My friends drank it neat. No one complained.

Our local Tesco had The Singleton down to £20; bought a couple (one as a present) and am really hoping it gets some more on because it is very, very nice...

I've drunk a few bottle of Rock over the past few years and it's luverly, never over ice..... just tiny bit of water and it opens out beautifully.

Just bought some of the Aldi 12tyr old, supposedly Dalmore.... I have to say the tasting notes for Dalmore could be applied to this, whatever it is.... Just check tho as there are 'Speyside' Glen Marnoch and 'Highland' Glen Marnoch...Dalmore is a Highland whisky so it might be worth hunting out.

Just bought my first bottle of Jura from my 'Local4U' shop @ £17.99 today.

Had a little sip (out of the bottle - yes, I know I'm a heathen) when I got in - loverly.

Will sample a little more later.

16 yr Jura in Co-op for £16

That is for the half bottle though. I read on here that there was a tenner off Jura at co-op last week but when I got there it turned out to be 81p. (on the 10 year that is) I am tempted by the 16 yr though.
