Does anybody know how to stop transparancies applied to a <div> being inherited?
Here's what I have...
<style type="text/css">
body{
background-image: url(
);
}
#contentBox{
background-color:#FFFFFF;
width:200px;
}
.transbox{
filter:alpha(opacity=60);
opacity:0.6;
}
</style>
<body>
<div id="contentBox" class="transbox">
<h1>Lorum Volest</h1>
<p>Olore pe doluptatur assit modiandae sequi tem. Nem. Itatisquae dest omnimus, corrovi digendebitio esent apicia cullaccum doluptatur? </div>
</body>
...and I can't stop the transparancy set for the background of contentbox getting passed to the text within it. 🙁
Any help much appreciated. 🙂
I'm no expert but I'd say that your <p> wants to be
<p style="opacity:1.0; filter:alpha(opacity=100);">
Obviously you can throw that in a class instead, I'm just lazy. There's probably some cunning css way to prevent the inheritance but not that I can think of. My guess would be that because you have no rule for general p in your style it's just going off what it can (could be wrong there...).
I've tried that (should of mentioned that before), and your right it does seem the obvious solution.
It dosent work though. Even if you pop the text in another <div> with the class added. (unless there is something extra needed)
Thanks anyway.
Add to your style rules:
DIV.transbox * { opacity:1; filter:alpha(opacity=100);}
isn't "filter" a toxic Internet Explorer feature anyway ?
