Was thinking about buying an album or two, and not sure which to choose

Greatest hits, or a proper album?
start with the first 7 (!), then go from there. there are some good 'greatest hits' albums, however pretty much all of his 60s albums are classics. Later on he gets a bit more idiosyncratic - which you'll either love or hate...
as above, start at the beginning! some of his 70's albums are classics, but i think they all are. its great seeing such a prolific career from the beginning

early folk dylan - the freewheelin bob dylan
dylan goes electric - HIghway 61 revisited and Blonde on Blonde
dylan gets divorced - blood on the tracks
all 100% cast iron classics
Obviously loads and loads of other good stuff - but you can;t go wrong with those
Blood on the Tracks is THE best Dylan album...
IMO obv.
desire, slow train, john wesley harding, infidels
