got a letter from tax man in November saying I had paid 2 much tax for 2010-2011, said I would get a check for £200 separately. Got that and paid it in.
Got exactly the same letter again yesterday, wondering whether another £200 is gonna turn up.
if it does is it wrong to cash it?
eh?
After reading this, probably not.
it's wrong if it's definitely a duplicate sent in error .. if I owed someone £20, paid them, forgot, then offered them another £20 I'd expect them to be honest .. just because it's the faceless Tax Man doesn't mean morals don't apply

except that the faceless taxman is a thieving mafiosi scoundrel who is beyond reproach..
so you should take any opportunity to claw something back from him.. he'll only give it to some banker as a bonus otherwise..

That's one opinion I guess.
Still, that's no justification.
Stealing is stealing.
Or just move to Greece or Italy, the Germans pay their tax for them.
It's not the tax man tho it's the tax payer you'd be thieving from.
