"A letter from Miss Usher’s accountants sent on Dec 14 2006, said: “I am enclosing a declaration to vary your previous main residence election for a period of one month to [Burnley home] and then back to [London home].

“The effect of varying the election is that [Burnley home] will receive the final three years’ main residence exemption and the gain will be completely exempt from capital gains tax provided [Burnley home] is sold before April 2007.”

so unbelievably naughty.

What's even naughtier is that the regulations (now i wonder who wrote them ?) allow it to happen..

It would be fraud, corruption and prosecution for any of us, but for them resignation and a golden goodbye.

Brian Binley, the MP for Northampton South, claimed £1,500 a month to rent the flat in Pimlico, central London, for more than three years despite House of Commons rules banning MPs from renting properties from themselves or their companies, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Now this one surely is fraud - against the rules as well

How many clean ones are there?

If it was down to me I'd sack the lot and get in people who had had experience working in the real world and honest common sense as a prerequisite!

The problem is that people who have had experience working in the real world and honest common sense don't go into politics.
