That's it really. Want to return a faulty item we have had for less than a year and the best I can come up with is being fobbed off with "you'd be best returning it to the manufacturer." Sorry but I thought the responsibilty was with the seller to sort it out. Rant over.

Amazon, along with Wiggle, is a company I have always had trouble free returns with.

TT, did you phone them or email them. What annoys me is how buying things just takes a few clicks but to return something that is over 30 days old and used, they're not interested, not in making it easy anyway.

I had a Sony camera that packed up with about 2 weeks warranty left I emailed Amazon and asked do I send it back to them or Sony. They said them and gave me a full refund.

You should try again.

I've returned several items over the years, never had one issue with them.

Rang them and explained the problem, chap was very helpful and emailed me the paid postage label
Sent it back and they refunded me, can't remember much else as it was that troublefree.

Do wonder if there is some sort of rating system that appears against buyers, along the lines of goods bought and amount of returns, faulty or otherwise

Yep, I had a router from amazon almost 6 months old which blew up, no questions asked, next day replacement sorted, old one when back in the same box. Last I heard of it, brilliant for me.

No problems here with sending stuff back to Amazon. Although when I have sent stauu back it has been pretty much straight away and not towards the end of a warranty period.

"you'd be best returning it to the manufacturer."

Not "you can't send it back" then? Ie, you can return it to Amazon, but you'll get a faster service by dealing directly, maybe?

My problem with them is that it should be just as straight forward to return stuff after 30 days as it is under 30 days.
