With the Echo at £120 and the Dot at £40 we could buy separate speakers at £80 or less and come out ahead. Speakers would not need to be bluetooth although that capability might be handy.
What do you reccommend? Would need to be compact, sound quality not a huge issue since it's going to be playing streamed music from Amazon prime.

I've got a Sony HT-XT100 hooked up to mine (amazon return). Sits nicely on top of a kitchen cupboard.
Too expensive.
Do you not think the all in one solution is far more convenient? Easily worth the extra £20 on your flip 3 IMO.
If you think a Pringles can adds to the decor then maybe.
Superfli is right. Wasn't worth it, so I went for the Anker bargain speakers at £20 and the dot. If we decide we like it we will promote the dot to the living room with the hifi, the the anker speakers will find a use elsewhere and we can get an echo, maybe.
