I want a decent sized MP3 player that isnt a touch screen jobber so im limited to an ipod or an ipod, which i dont mind that much as ill just ger a big old classic one. (anyone selling one?)
However im NOT using iTunes so whats the best alternative? Can i use Winamp easily?
If i bought one secondhand will it run through a different bit of software or can i format it to make it start from scratch again?
Also, whats the best music file manager, i.e. something to sort out all the errors like track numbers, titles, genres etc?
mediamonkey or songbird as a iTunes replacement

You have to pay, IMO well worth it for large music collections - and you can trial run it.
Also (and apologies for double post) you could look at Rockbox if you want to play with the iPod's firmware. Then you can cut out iTunes completely.
My last experience of it was 3 years ago, and it was excellent then. I imagine it remains so.
