We rented a ski chalet in the village for a week over the summer. Personally I'd recommend renting something in Borg d'oisans. Riding up the 21 hair pins after every ride gets a bit tedious if you're riding every day....

Alan & Lynne are friends who run a very nice place just out of Bourg d'Oisan. They are great people and frighteningly fit cyclists (on and off road) and skiers. They did the Marmotte in the dark! Its ideally situated for several different climbs and routes.

Not good with the linky thing but this is the address: www.bourgdoisansbandb.com

Stayed at a great place in Briancon this summer, if that helps. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Nice bar / restaurant below, and the bar owner is a mountain bike guide (and really nice chap).

I stayed here: http://www.cgh-residences.co.uk/winter/residence/residence-le-cristal-de-l-alpe.html

Really nice place, lovely indoor pool and quite reasonably priced in the summer (winter prices are horrific!). They have secure bike parking in the underground car park.

I was there for La Marmotte, there were also quite a few mtbers there doing Megavalanche.
