Looks like we need a new printer....

After the HP shat itself with ink and have, well, frankly been crap for the last twelve months....despit always having genuine ink etc..

Up to £200 in the budget, no requirement for photo printing just documents and scanning really, wifi a must though.

My recent thread:

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/epson-all-in-one-printer-anyone-had-one-repaired

I therefore have been looking and reading online reviews til I was blue in the face. Am done with Epson and would never buy another. Ended up with a Canon all-in-one so time will tell.

Did notice however that the price of laser printers has come down quite considerably.

To be fair my previous Epson lasted 6 years. Still no word from the Epson CEO about a printer that only worked for 1 year and 4 days. Received a refund from the big 'A' so happy about that.

Did yours see daily use for 3 years?

we has a canon for 2-3 yrs that was great and then just stopped working completely. Power supply, presumably, which doesn't look replaceable other than with a factory spare part, so I didn't pursue that line

Now got an Epson - that's OK too, though sloooow to start-up or reset after ink changes etc. Fine once it's going. Only 6months in though, so I'll await the 1yr 4days landmark

no probably used it once a week for about 10 pages or so.Probably used more ink cleaning the thing in the last six months than in the previous two years!

Canon all in one here but wouldn't rush to buy another. Amazingly slow to start up sometimes and when started sometime crazy slow before it actually starts printing. 'Detects' that lids / drawers are open when they are not. Wireless went crazy slow (probably needs drivers re-installing but just found the cable out). Crazy expensive ink (5 tanks).

I'm not convinced that any others are much better though ! Think I'm buying a laser printer and keeping the cannon just for the odd scan.

oops, just got home with a Canon MX925....

Upset the Epson woman in the process too because of the link to Cinnamon Girls thread.

The HP lady took it well though but admitted they (printers) don't last as long as they used to.

This is my weekend homework too.

I have a Kodak and wouldn't buy another one and here we have recommendations to not buy Canon, HP and Epson. Doesn't leave a lot to look at!

Samsung? Id say Brother too but they just seem very very plasticy in a bad plastic sort of way.
