or made out of Kraft Cheese Slices stamped to shape?

Next Thursday's 1/4 inch socket set looks like it'd be a lot of use.

I purchased an allen key set around eight years ago and it is still fettling bike faultlessly all these years later.

Stuff like Aldi kit is good for deciding whether its worth paying proper money for something - if you break it / wear it out then you'd do well to buy a proper one. If you don't then you maybe never needed it.

Its how i decided that I didn't want a bar bag as much as I thought - used once and abandoned - but had more use for a camelback than I'd realised

That's not a bad theory! I reckon I'll have made up my mind in 8 years 😀

I have bought electrical and hand tools from there and they have all been fine (in fact bloody brilliant for the money) spanners undo bolts, ball ended allen keys still fine however bike tool kit from Lidl was a bit flakey and I bust some of the bits like the chain wrench but for £16 for the entire kit I wasnt suprised!

Dunno how it compares price wise, but the Halfords offerings are well regarded. I picked up a small 'Pro' series socket set for not much money and it's brilliant.

The Halford's pro advanced stuff is top notch. Really good quality kit, and they all (aside from ratchets with moving parts) come with a lifetime guarantee. I got a small 3/8 set for £20. And have been slowly building it up with stuff I specifically use.

It can still get expensive relatively speaking, but in my experience cheap tools tend to wear themselves out and break pretty quickly, and more than anything annoy the hell out of you for various reasons.
