How many pages of documents did your landlord give you?
Any idea what they all mean / are for?

I am a landlord buddy, all i gave the tenants was a copy of the signed letting agreement, CP12 for the gas and a list of contact details for emergencies. That was it. No idea what else u should get.

Some leases are many, many pages long, plus inventories, and maybe instructions for everything in the flat?

Think you are required to provide a tenant information pack.

Legally now you have to provide:

AT5 Notification of Tenancy Offer - 4 pages of 'I am going to offer you this place to rent', before any deposit or tenancy is signed.

Tenancy Pack (overall document) - 20 pages
Certificates & evidence - 9 pages
Repairing Standards Document - 8 pages
Short Tenancy Agreement - 9 pages
Tenant Deposit Holding form & information - 12 pages
Inventory - 4 pages

That is 66 pages.
