Trying to get a bit of blank space under my images on my blog on the following page

http://andy-matthews.co.uk/blog/2009/06/29/film-is-real/

I can't get the code to display here but it's basically the flickr image code.

Any ideas how I get a space underneath so the images don't look all bunched up?
change the <p> to <p class=somename>
and a style in the head section (or anywhere really)
<style>
p.somename { padding-bottom: 50px }
</style>
where 50 pixels is the height of the space

Oh hi Rich! Will be at the pump track again soon hopefully.

simon - yes, I left it straight out of the camera as I was shooting film.

in which case we'd not be able to see it without visiting you...

Ignore him. It is a strong image, regardless of what angle the horizon is at (which is entirely irrelevant to your shot).

perhaps I'm oversenstive, as due to astigmatism, most of my shots come out tilted, and I routinely rotate them straight afterwards ๐Ÿ™‚ However, I would suggest that it is not authenticity to include flaws merely generated by the photographic process...

Neither is it always a "good thing" to have perfectly straight horizons:

don't you mean "even the masters can **** up" ?

Certainly the crookedness is the first thing I see and it distracts from the other content
Also I'm worrying about the statues falling on the old ladies...

Rubbish huh?

I'm sure they would all have benefited from your insight simon.

I think the 3rd one is straight. And I didn't say that being tilted was rubbish, only that it's an unnecessary distraction, and looks like carelessness

Oh my. I go and get the sensor cleaned on my camera and come back to this.

I have an astigmatism too in one eye so normally straighten them but this is how the print came out.

When you manage to take the camera off P mode Simon we can talk. I think it's fine and part of the process of shooting film.

You think crooked shots are anything to do with the capture medium?

With regard to Cartier-B etc, of course the act of photography and the subsequent printing/mounting or latterly scanning are quite separate - I don't think there has ever been a requirement to slavishly print the entire neg any more than only one grade of paper being allowed.

When you manage to take the camera off P mode Simon we can talk

ooooh how snobbish :o) My eyes have no need for manual exposure correction either...

You really are a bit of a knob.

Do you really have to be so negative of everything ALL the time.

that's only in your head :o) And you wouldn't have said that if you'd read many of my posts. I say negative, positive, neutral and ridiculous things all the time.
