Thats a tough one that someone would do that intentionally, but lesson learned, never comment on business matters on a public forum, it can come back to bite you in so many ways.

I have no idea what the deleted thread said but Binners etc. do you think this is some sort of club? coz it's not, it's a public forum so if you're posting personal information of any sort you must be prepared for anyone with an internet connection to do whatever they want with it.

I'm having a look at my own analytics, I'm guessing the person who did it at least looked at my site before they sent it in my name. May be able to extract his IP... I had four bounced hits sourced from that forum post!

I have always been aware that this forum is basically populated by people who are complete strangers to me. Unfortunately you can't glean IP's off Google Anaylitcs, I had four separate hits, from 4 different geographic locations. So there's no point in trying to work out who they were.

I got stung by STW in a very similar manner a few years ago. had a job lined up with a well know bike chain. Asked on here why well known bike chain had a bad rep. heeps of abuse about well known bike chain. job no longer lined up and a free summer for me.

This is true, but I suspect there are quite a lot of 'regulars' who lurk in the background but aren't registered and have no real presence on the site.
Judging by the tags that were left at the top of the post, the person probably was a regular/signed in and had posted on the thread.
