well that was a misleading title, kinda...

i'm off down to brighton tonight to stay with my tattooist, tomorrow morning we'll wake up and go to open the shop early and get cracking on finishing my arm off.

i've got him booked all day so a good 7 hours, which should be ample time to get my arm coloured in, but if there's still time at the end of the day i'm using it to get extra stuff done.

inspire me with bike related designs, i think i can safely say its a big enough part of my life now 😀

shibboleth, if you're reading this.. i wouldn't want to work for you anyway 😛

You need someone to lend you a Mint Sauce Keyring?

get my arm coloured in

My Daughter's advice would probably be "Be sure to stay inside the lines".

Are you not leaving it a little bit late to ask for designs?

guy called steven winter, used to be based in yeovil, moved to brighton a couple of years ago and he's just opened up a new shop with a fellow tattooist. i'll try find a couple of links to some of his stuff 🙂

he was a keen rider of the bmx-type-bike so i think he'll be happy about throwing on something bikey if we have time 😀

EDIT - hopefully this link will work... some old pics he has left up on his facebook:

My cousin is a very keen motorcyclist, and he's just had something that is a slight variation on this up his arm. Perhaps a bicycle version of that?

Why dont you get a tattoo of my face, put onto your face? That way you could be as pretty as me?

or

Get a tattoo of your face as it is right now on your own face, then you'll never age.

Good ideas I think you'll agree. . . .

Or as MrsConsequence calls you, Justin.

He's not Scottish, he's a Leeds United fayn, and his eyes are red from crying so much*. 🙁

*Leeds United fayns will understand this.

Oh yes, I'd missed the England references.

Poor old Leeds, they used to be one of the big boys.

No, they never were really. They just had a couple of good spells is all. The likes of Aston Villa, Everton, Forest and even Sheffield Wednesday are more successful clubs than Leeds.

Which studio are you going to?

While you're here, pop to the Evening Star for some top notch ale/cider, it's an excellent pub! Anyone worth talking to in Brighton will know where it is. It's tucked down a side road by the station, but you need to know where to look.

I like the idea of curved geometric patterns with the outline shaped like chainring teeth. I'm toying with a penny farthing tattoo, probably on the left calf if I commit to it. I've always hand a fondness for them and they are an important link to what we do. Modern bike things will age pretty badly I reckon.

Don't get a logo, or hardware inspired tat. Definitely don't get a tribal/bicycle pattern jobby. It's already a decade old.
