MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
This is awesome. They've just mixed Spice Girls with Aphex Twin.
Yeah - it's been great all day for those of us who are a certain age.
Bet Steve Lurpack was proper annoyed @ Mel C from nicking all his staple 90s tunes.
Yeah that spice girls windowlicker mash up was nuts!
Fair play to Mel C for that, do you think she got any help or is that me being cynical?
No change to lamaqs show, he's always been stuck in the nineties. I'm sure he opens his show with elastica every day
Mel C's mix was bloody brilliant!!
It's bee great today, really enjoyed it.
Although, not being funny, Shaun keaveny plays 'drink the elixir' by Salad every couple of weeks
It's a great song though to be fair. And great to hear that Jeff Buckley deep cut
Also the D n B mix was great fun in MAH show
Also enjoyed 'pony' by ginuwine. One of the greatest songs of the decade
I'm a bit behind, just on Evapor8.
BANGIN!
Sneaker pimps this morning, ace. It was all ace.
Hole into Ragga tip was a tidy mix as well, if that’s all her, if so, She’s good.
Waking up at 6am to Pantera’s ‘Mouth for War’ does rather come under the heading of a rude awakening! There’s nothing wrong with Elastica, I still wear my Elastica tee shirt I got at one of their very early gigs at the Fleece & Firkin in Bristol; but they do get played by 6Music fairly often, not that I hear much of it, now I can actually get away with wearing earphones at work, I’m playing music on my phone rather than listening to the radio, because it’s just easier to pause it than doing the same with a radio station.
I did catch part of Shirley Manson’s mix on my way to work, which I enjoyed.
The 90’s was a great decade for music, lots of new venues opened in cities like Bristol, and bands like Goldfrapp, Portishead, Massive Attack were coming out of the city at that time, and there were bands like Curve as well. Skew-Lo’s ‘I Wish’ is another 6Music perennial, along with They Might Be Giants’ ‘Birdhouse In Your Soul’, and I’m fine with that, too.
Mel C’s mix was bloody brilliant!!
I loved the music, but the mix, nah. Jive Bunny.

I think it's fair to say that she's not Andrew Weatherall, but I'll let her off with that for the interesting tunes mash up 🙂
I think the mix was all her - apparently she's handy behind the decks.
And while much of her output is far from my cup of tea, it can't be denied she's had and still has, a glittering career. Insane amount of awards and achievements

It really wasn't much of a stretch for him, was it "When I was on the evening session/at the NME/discovered Elastica". Steve! what a revelation, you've never mentioned that before.
Weird one this. The 'good stuff' from the 90's appears on 6 on most shows on a regular basis, and Steve's always got a pile of landfill indie from the era on his show. So apart from a small amount of pop it didn't sound that different to normal.
Mary Anne's interview with Storm was good, but even the music in her mix was hardly unplayed on the station. They opened with LFO?
I switched off on 80's day after the 'peoples playlist' in the morning - if I wanted to listen to absolute80's I'd have got a minicab - but the rest of the day sounded pretty good by all accounts.
