Everything crossed for Lauren. I'm sure going public will help with other folk getting help.

fewer people are paying the licence fee, so they jack up the price etc. They also feel the need to show consistently high audience reach for generalist stations like Radio 2, hence chucking sh*t at the wall in the hopes the yoof might find something they want.

Funnily enough, had the licence fee renewal email yesterday.

Do I bother...?

Schedule seems to be 100% Chris Hawkins at the moment.  That should cut costs

Same. For me, Riley & Coe, RadMac and Have I Got News For You are worth the licence fee on their own, so yes. But the whole licence fee concept is surely on its last legs.

It's a toss up as to whether his music tops the depressing stakes tbh

You’re clearly not at all familiar with Elbow’s material, because a lot of it is far from depressing, it really encourages loud singalongs by the audience. One in particular, I believe when John Peel was introducing at Glastonbury has some significant profanity in it. I’ve seen them quite a few times, and every time has the audience singing their heads off! I usually end up completely hoarse!
