Following 3 weeks in plaster and minor surgery here is the result of my foot not clipping in and slipping off the pedal and down the chainring!

Needed to keep the foot imobilised so that the skin didnt stretch and rip the stitches. The good news is I didnt damage my achillies which was lucky.

Done that, still have the neat set of puncture wounds tattooed with oil 20 year later.

Have had my own inverted v on my calf for thirty five yrs from a bolt on my Tomahawk gouging my calf. No oil though. Glad it is healing and not structural. I can still remember staggering off the bike and a white faced friend saying "don't look at your leg!" Well what happened next...?

Yeah with mine once I'd realised I hadnt hit an artery and wasnt going to bleed to death I could tell it wasnt good as none of the passers by wanted to get too close and most back away rapidly. Thankfully a police dog handler patched me up and took me to hospital as no ambulance had turned up after 45mins!
