Anyone else?

Adults basically describing features etc of batman, etc toys on Youtube. Hora jnr seems to prefer to watch these.

Seriously dull vids. Some droning on/bizarre.

YEP! đŸ˜† its the level of detail, on Lego Batman a bloke describes every doll, paint, where it is and detailing on the costumes. Its seriously dull.

Grown men will be buying magazines that describe all the components on a bicycle next!

It's a boy thing. My son got obsessed with cut away drawings of thunderbird and star wars things at one point.

Garbage trucks for crankbrat and grown men with working model garbage trucks . ( for some reason the men usually are German and or look like hells angels with loads of tattoos)

Here too. Mainly transformer toys but some Lego too.
Seemed to outgrow it around 6.5

My 6 year old is the same or he also likes watching the YouTube videos of people playing video games like Lego Star Wars, Toy Story etc...
I think it's just that he likes the films/characters so much that he's willing to watch anything about them.
No harm though I guess. At least it's better than the missus watching Eastenders.

My little niece loves nothing more than sitting watching Nigella cooking. She's flicks through the recipes listed on the app, then plays one she likes the sound of. She'd happily sit and watch them for hours.

Lets face it…. kids are just weird

My kid (11) watches these seriously dire "comedy" youtube videos made by adult wannabe Playschool presenters (or whatever the US version of Playschool is, as they are all American).
Its either that or (Americans) recording their video game playing and describing it. My god, if there's anything more boring than playing a video game it's watching someone else play a video game!
Kids!

Our boy loves watching diggers.

Diggers digging.

Dump trucks dumping.

Diggers dumping dirt they've dug into dump trucks.

Hours and hours of it.

Then we might get some tractors. Ploughing a field.

Sometimes I long for a nice rendition of the wheels on the bus.

Ha welcome to my world....our 5 year old used to watch these....yes people actually opening packets of toys!! and has now progressed to watching vids of people playing skylanders, Jurassic park and lego games....it beggars belief! I try to talk him out of it but he really likes it. and the morons who narrate these things jesus wept.I mean do they actually make a living out of this or just do it in their spare time?

My son often watches Hotwheels unboxing type stuff on you tube, done by some middle aged bloke with a slightly hispanic american accent.
I cant work out if they're just inmformercials for his toy shop or whether he some sort of OCD collector. Wierd.

Yes, our little one loves "egg surprise", even though she can tell you which toy is coming out next.

Disney Collector is her favourite.

I believe they do! I saw a webpage recently where you can view the income generated by their subscriptions and views. It was too depressing to remember where it was.

We've recently discovered three and a half year old Diddy Dutch is quite fond of these, noticed him watching a few variants of all kinds of toys.

WARNING We did find a few videos with swearing in them, so if your child is watching these then I'd advise caution.

mine too (9 and 7), they love stampylongnose. endless youtube videos of him playing minecraft with his friend iBallisticsquid. They almost never watch TV, just these youtube vids. better than the unboxing of Match Attax that they used to watch though.

Edit: they also found this, which made me think of nothing more than comic book guy in the simpsons.

Leo Kim for our 3 y/o as he specialises in Thomas & Cars type stuff - it's beyond irritating and I hate it but it's all you get when you put Thomas & toys in as a search. Agree about Disney collector, she's irritating beyond belief.

Is it wrong of me to begrudge these people making a living from this rubbish?

Relieved that there are other kids doing it and adults letting their kids do it!! My 3 year old could spend an age watching Disney Collector if we let him!!Also spends a lot of time watching the various re-enactments of Spiderman - some of good, others are just creepy - always have to be around I-Pad when he is on there.

Has that video actually been watched 85 million times?

I've made a mistake haven't I, it's not really 85 million views...surely?

My wee lad loves wTching these, stamp longnose , anything minecraft or there's an American kid called Evan who's being groomed for TV (by his parents it seems).
The thing is these folks are getting paid for the advertising revenue on YouTube. It's a lucrative business.

Ditto. Very weird of adults to do that. Same with batman etc re-enactments. I've heard the odd bleeped word and the odd actual swear word.

At that point, stop him and tell him not to watch or else he'll never have it again......he drifts back onto the clip sometimes. Little rebel.

yes this ^^^ mine also watch this longnose bloke đŸ˜•

although to be fair my 13 year old does watch some fairly funny stuff on the tube....mainly involves teen or early 20's lads eating mouthfuls of chilies or generally hurting them selves some how. or another of his fav's is how films should end or something which can entertain at times.

YES!

2.5 yr old here obsessed with some Germanic sounding chap opening toy eggs. He's not alone, one vid has 12million views!

It's a whole niche that must tap into kid's psyches and I guess they make a fortune from you tube, how much will someone earn from 12m views?

He's now into an even stranger sub niche of this genre where the adults open the eggs, press the toys into play doh and then unwrap them.

I have no idea how he found these vids.

Another 2 stampylongnose addicted boys here, aged 6 & 8.
To be fair, they put hours of effort into creating these Minecraft world's after watching him.
He did a video of how he started & by all accounts, was quite a popular games reviewer. YouTube closed his account once, & reinstated it after a big protest.
I just can't stand his voice.
