i have a 3 3g dongle but the reception isn't brilliant and wondering if i get a payg sim card for a different network will it work. Has anyone tried a different sim card in a dongle, do they network lock them in the same way as mobile phones?

no mate they're fixed to one network as are the 3g wireless router thingies i've got both so i can run several pc's simultaneously off the sim card, but then my reception is ok ish.

you need to unlock it.
i got one and unlocked it and use it with my o2 sim from my iphone 😉
