We will be in touch
I've got my 2nd and final interview on Tuesday for the slaes job I want and it's only me against one other.
I know the standard questions about package, car, bonuses, company background but what I'm after are killer questions that will make them hire me.
I'm not expecting much from you lot 😉 but give it your best shot or make us laugh if needed.
Ta
"Please tell me about a time when you single handedly saved 200 orphans from certain death."
"Please tell me about a time when you led a team to victory in an international sporting event."
That's the kind of stuff they like asking on application forms, so why not ask a bit back? 😆
'when i run my own business, will you come and work for me'?

I like it but I might not use it if you don't mind
Remember that when you're asked "Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?", the correct answer is "Sat in your chair" or "Being your boss".
In all seriousness, stuff like "What key things do you expect me to achieve in X months?" is probably about as good as it gets, unless they do something considerably differently to everyone else, and you can ask about that - often these small differences are a big deal within the firm.
But if I were you, I'd be thinking about what competency questions I'd be asked, and try to prep answers.
given a free reign what changes would you like to make to the company?

I had those at the 1st interview and at a couple of timed online tests before been asked back for the final interview.
So what else should I ask them?
It's always useful to ask what the potential successor roles might be to the one you're applying for, so you can understand what your next career move might be if you stay with the organisation - you could follow this up by asking about their expectations of the length of time they would see someone staying in role for before moving on to another role with the organisation.
In my last interview for a sales job, I asked the guy what his team would say about him if I asked them behind his back.
(This is a question to slightly disarm him)
I also asked what reservations, if any, he had about me as I would prefer to address them there and then and walk out the door with an offer in my hand (subject to salary negotiations, references etc).
Keep it in mind to ask open rather than closed questions - it'll go down well as they'll hope you'll be doing this with leads.
He offered me the job. I accepted. I wish I hadn't but that's another story.
Remember, it's a sales job. ABC. Nobody should be complaining about you trying to close the deal right from the beginning (without being an over-enthusiastic cock).
Good luck with it, though I'm sure you don't need it 😉

I like that one, I'm going to use "Do you have any concerns about me, that I need to clear up right now in order to win the job?" at the end.
I've also got the following
"How would you describe the work culture at -------?"
"What are the most enjoyable and the least enjoyable aspects of the role?"
"Tell me about your style of management and the reporting structure within the company"
Plus a couple more
So glad I've never had to do all this stuff.
Good luck John!
When I employed sales staff, if they didn't try and close me before the end of the interview they didn't get a job offer.
Last time I went for interviews, a couple of similar companies were recruiting at the same time. I asked the interviewers what was it about working there that kept them there, instead of applying to one of the other companies recruiting at the moment. (didn't name those companies, just referenced the industry).

The other thing was I wouldn't offer the job there and then. I'd leave it hanging. The first suitable guy to make a followup call got the job.
Thanks for your help guys I got the job............
I was hoping that was going the be the posting when I clicked on the thread. Good work.
Now...ABC 🙂
Nice one, what did you ask in the end?

All the sensible ones 😉
cool - so, will they work for you when you have your own company?
Seeing as it's a sales role then might I assume you've qualified yourself and them as being right for one another? I.e you've identified and discussed:
what they're looking
what you're looking for +
what they bring to the table +
what you bring to the table +
-------------------------------
when do I start? =
If not, then you'd better start asking things like "Where do you see me bringing most value to the role?" "How do you see me fitting in with the team/ethos/philosophy?" "What are the reasons you feel I'm right for this role?"
I.e. if you're confident you want (and can do) the job, then you need to get them to convince themselves (by speaking aloud) why they want you too.
Good luck
Good luck
😀
Don't think he needs it anymore.
Well done John, I'm glad your not selling to me though as I don't think I could take the phone bombardment & endless mithering 😉
I'm sure there's something I'll be selling that you'll need 😕
So what are you selling, anyway?
