Nope, it's just their version of the Y2K bug.. they weren't around long enough to get to the point where they needed to design Mayan Calendar 2.0

The Mayans didn't predict the world will end in 2012. It's just the end of a cycle.

Oh i dunno- with all the death and destruction in the middle east, the US and us getting involved and the massive tsunami in Japan, im not too optimistic about it.
Actually, i remember reading these predictions (apparently from Nostradamus) a few years back.
A third world war was mentioned with Iran being the trigger.....
