As I’ve said it before, if you don’t buy crisps, chocolate, cider, beer etc then you are less likely to eat it.

The simplest advice is usually the best! I couldn’t agree with this more.

Ok I'm in. I'm the heaviest I've been for years partly due to work and partly a chest infection that is taking me ages to shake off.

I had very good results by following:

1. No refined sugar, cut out all chocolate, biscuits, snacks etc. Take tea & coffee plain. Cut out all fruit juices (but still eat plenty of fruit & veg)
2. Stop all alcohol for the 3 month period (I'm quite looking forward to this after Christmas), around week 6 you will start to really shift some weight). It's surprising how much this can help.
3. Use the 8/16 diet (eat pretty much what you want, but all in an 8hr period eg 9am to 5pm, then nothing for the remaining 16hrs.

Lost 2.5 stone in the 3 months up to Xmas, so I know what works for me. Hopefully the final push now.

Cut out sugar, pasta, bread, anything refined, spuds and other non green vege. Ate things like tuna salad, mayo and cheese in small amounts, and nice fish, pork or steak based meals; basically anything you can chuck mushroom, leeks and creme fraiche in. Drank more water and increased the biking. Didn’t really count calories.

Cheers, pretty much my plan, though I will use MFP to track stuff.

Luckily alcohol and soft drinks aren't an issue for me as I'm pretty much sparkly water or tea. What is my issue is bingeing, both exercise and food, but I've been clawing my way out of that recently with some help.

Well, I'm in. For a number of reasons, May 2019 onwards has been a disaster in terms of weight gain and fitness loss, so got to do something about it.

Just set my target as 73kg, 75 would be too little per week to keep me motivated and on track. Last blowout today with snacks and a pizza for seeing the New Year in then it's all-in as I'm determined to give myself the best chance possible to do the SDW in under 12hrs in 2021. Cutting out the cheeky snacks and the occasional chippy/McDonald's partnered with Zwift on top of my normal riding should do it.

SDW is a Mega ride in a day, I have very fond memories of the BHF rides. Great target for 2021.

What the best app (android) for food and drink tracking ?

Not necessarily the best , but the free version of my fitness pal suits me. Once you've used it a while all your regular foods are in the history which makes life easier and strava activities sync to it too.

I'm in.

Think I signed up once but never got any further than that, 2020 saw me develop rheumatoid arthritis and turn 40 and between the nausea inducing meds, the limited alcohol allowance, and the realisation that I need to use my body while I still can I think I've lost a fair bit this year already, if I can do another half a stone by April I'll be in my best shape for 10 years

I’m in. Had a difficult spell last winter and put weight on, got a bit off over summer but not as much as I would’ve liked, then a busy time at work lately has meant the weight has gone on again. Need to sort it out.

Well that's me with an updated start weight. Dropped 3kg of poo from the pipes, water and hopefully some fat too in the last week since 'signing up'. So, that's my excuse if next weeks weight in isn't the bomb that most will get in week 1, already had my week 1

All the best to you all 🤪

First weigh in done. Good luck all!

I lost 2.5 stone a few years back low carbing and found it fairly easy. I kept it off for a while but last year saw some come back on.

Lets do this!

I've joined. See if I can loose nearly 1.5 stone. I've had a couple of extra compression socks, so I can hope fully run more often everyweek. And concentrate on not snacking on rubbish every bored moment!

I'm in, started well last year then covid kicked in and went completely downhill from there. Need to get back on the bike as just lost the mojo for it over the past few years so have to make the effort this year. Need the kick up the backside and some accountability so this all helps.

Starting weight of 83.7kg... think that's a personal record!
I'm doing this to help with my overall health; hoping to lower my blood pressure, cholesterol, etc too.
Blood pressure today: 133/91 @ 65bpm (RHR 58bpm over 7 days according to Forerunner).

Good luck everyone!

79.5kg starting point, not as high as I feared after my post-christmas binging. That gives me 6.5kgs to lose, bang on 0.5kg/week so not a bad target. Hopefully I can get a good start on it the first few weeks as it will inevitably slow down the closer I get to my target.

My weigh in this morning was a frankly shocking 105.8kg, I remember being horrified last year at breaching 100kg after years of hovering between 92 and 95kg. I'm 191cm tall.
Every year I manage a snack free and alcohol free January before creeping back in to bad habits. The tactic of having none in the house doesn't work because my wife likes snacks, she just has more control than me.
The big factor is the lack of exercise, with 2 young kids I just can't find time or energy to do it. I must do it though as I can feel it affecting my general health, I'm getting out if breath doing simple things and I've started snoring, presumably because if being overweight.

Thanks Cocunut.

Like others I got a nasty shock when I stepped on the scales today! After a particularly difficult year I'm the heaviest I've been in 5 years at 214 lbs. Fighting weight is 185 so I want to get back there by the end of the year. 7kg / 1 stone target for 1st April.

If anybody needs extra motivation have a look at the 90 Day exercise thread that's just been started. I did the 100 day to Christmas one and it really helped me get off my butt. You don't have to go hell for leather but it's definitely an extra motivator.

I’m in.
After a totally motivation-lacking 2020 I weighed myself just now and am heavier than at any time in the last decade.
Also planning to exercise every day and see if I can create some positive habits rather than the apathy and boozing of the last year.

Looks like some retard has messed about with the spreadsheet.
Coconut, can you rescue the data? Or lock the spreadsheet?
Can you see who has messed it up? Name and shame if so 🙂
