Hi,

My current EHD is getting full and I'm crap at deleting stuff (mainly photos) so I'm in the market for a newer and bigger one.

Are there brands to go for or to avoid? There seems to be such a wide range of price so why would spending a bit more be a good idea?

Also, I'm running out of USB slots. Can I have (say) 2 EHD's on a splitter and feeding into one USB slot on the PC?

Cheers,

Carl.

I bought a Western Digital 1TB for £50. Very impressed with the transfer speed etc, but I'm no techie geek!

Look up your motherboard online and also don't confuse your usb ports but you can buy usb to esata. USB 3 HDs will be out next yr.

Any decent make will be OK - Samsung/Maxtor/Western Digital.

However, hard drives fail, so don't go putting a single copy of all of your data on any one of them.
