just has a thought and a shock, don't know if my email addy is in my profile anymore so lukegray @ gmail.com without spaces will do the trick.
I'm going to need a weighbridge the scales have just said 😳 19.9 stone I knew i'd letmyself go but not that much.
How longs it going to run for? If all year i'll make a proper target lets say 15 stone so 4.9 stone loss

Put my name down for a bit of that. Could do with losing a stone, ideally two.

good question. last year we e-mailed the number into the organiser (thanks for doing that marsdenman). Name and weight in the subject line so he didn't have to open hundreds of e-mails. I'm pretty sure 18 bikes don't want to add all those mails individually. Would make more sense to give out an e-mail that we can all send to.

Wieght check this am and I am below(just)14st for the first time in 30yrs. Used to be an 11st weakling until I got salmonella. Lost 2st and 6wks of my life. Barely ate much for mths therafter without being sick, that went on for a couple of years with certain foods. Then I regained my appetite and was hungry all the time, ballooned, for me to over 15st.

232.5lbs this morning. I blame the mince pies. That'll be ~25lbs to lose then.

13st 3. Not quite as much damage from layoff due to shoulder and Christmas but I was close to my target of 12st 7 when it happened so. 12st 7 by the end of April (moderately fit for the arrival of firstborn) and ideally 12st by the summer to be ultra trim for Kielder 100 (oh, and the rest of my life).
There, said it, got to do it now 🙂

If anyone was planning to use something to do with points thats no way related to a commercial diet plan and was looking to work them out on your phone (handy if your in a shop buying sandwiches for lunch etc) feel free to use this.

I would like to join for this as well. Managed to get down to 96.5kg/213lb (down from 112kg/247lb) during summer. Now I'm 101kg (223lb) on my scales. Goal is to get to 90kg/198lb in the next couple of months, maybe even lower than that.

My email is in my profile.

Cos I am vertically challenged I usually say that I am not overweight but under-tall... I could do with losing at least 3 stone... got every incentive if done as a challenge among like minded - count me in.

righty ho, here we go.

We have 100 people signed up, ready to go.

Please weigh yourself this weekend and email to

fatclub@18bikes.co.uk

don't put anything in the body, just fill in the subject with:

FORUMNAME/WEIGHT

Weight in kg please.

Rolling on from this, we'll be every Friday for weigh in, ok?

If it is anything like previous years there will be 8 left by the end of January 😉

From a purely psychological point of view, would weighing in on a monday be better? Reason being if you weigh on a friday and you maybe lost a pound or so you may be more inclined to 'let go' a bit more as it is the weekend?*

*I am probably talking rubbish tho.

What's all the fuss about weight loss, as long as you are getting enough exercise your weight will be right for you. If you cant catch up with young whippets or the racing snakes out there would it not be better for the forum work out a campaign to fatten them up to slow them down.. the Belgian style of diet always helped me with little effort to gain weight 🙂 happy new year

Yeah, Friday weigh in is good for me. That way I can stuff my face over the weekend and still have the whole week to shift it! 😀

For those who haven't realised- when I said email with username/weight in the email title, replace those with your username and weight!! Same for future weigh-ins, save me opening a hundred odd emails

That's my thinking too. Monday morning after all the weekend excess seems the best time, then there's the whole week to fight the flab.
